Single-License Office 2013 Will Drive Users to Google Docs
نوشته شده توسط : hgerrtf

Microsoft recently changed its microsoft office 2010 home and student end-user licensing agreement. Instead of having the ability to install the retail version of the Office 2013 to a different PC, should the one where you originally installed it stops working or gets stolen, you have to purchase another Office 2013 to use on the new or other device.

EULA for microsoft windows 7 allowed users to reassign the license to a different device, any number of times, so long as it's not done more often than once every 90 days. But in case your computer breaks, you are able to reassign the license sooner. Reassigning the license makes the new device the licensed device.

So what will the new EULA exactly mean? It implies that if your computer dies, Office 2013 dies along with it. You have to purchase a brand new one.

"This is stricter language than was available before," said Paul DeGroot, principal consultant at Pica Communications, and like Ullman, a licensing guru. "According to this language, if your computer dies, the same is true your Office license. Microsoft has already established that language in position for buy software online software previously, although not for retail licenses."
